Ron Krueger

Ron Krueger turned a hobby into a career in 1989 when he began writing about food and overseeing the Tempo food section published on Tuesdays. He got serious about cooking when he was in his 30s and admits that his family wasn't always happy with the first efforts in 1978. By 1984, the cooking improved and he began to occasionally contribute to the food section.

He joined The Flint Journal in 1976 and had a variety of reporting and editing assignments before becoming The Flint Journal's food writer. Today, in addition to writing many of the stories that appear on the Tempo food page, he writes an Entertainer column about area restaurants and chefs.

The Three Rivers native is a graduate of Clio High School and Western Michigan University. He is the father of two.
