The Presses

Since 1954, The Flint Journal’s huge Goss Headliner letterpresses have printed every copy of the paper, from the days when color news photos were a distant dream and on into the 21st century.
Their days are now numbered. The venerable presses will soon be replaced with a state-of-the-art offset press manufactured in Germany. To tour The Journal’s pressroom, click on any of the images below to view a larger photograph and caption.
