Explosive charges bring down the former IMA Auditorium on Feb. 23, 1997. The six-story auditorium was built in 1929 with money donated from factory workers’ paychecks and was converted into Auto World in the 1980s. The failed theme park was demolished to make way for the expansion of the University of Michigan-Flint campus.
